So...what is Project For A New American Century? Or rather, who is...

I know it seems implausible but look at who is part of this think-tank, what their mission is and what we have just gone and done! It is outrageous and even though it was mentioned a few times in the press, the agenda these guys had for so long was drowned out by the loud thrumming of WMD going off in every other interview and article. Hard to beat - all that fear.

Project For a new American Century is a think tank of men who are now described as "neoconservatives". They long to return our military to the strength it was under Reagan. They have an aggressive world view in which they think America should use its might to lead the world. This war in Iraq is simply the first step. John Bolton: Another finger-in-the-world's-eye nomination as U.N. Ambassador Okay so he was a recess appointment - basically just jammed under the door - not an enormous vote of confidence in him.

Bolton Update: Hmmm - looks like he may not get to stay. He is one example of Bush's opposite world - you hate the U.N.? Great! We'll make you the ambassador!! Update 12/06 - Bolton's out.

Under Investigation Or Indicted - Maybe it's not all roses and promotions

I Lewis "Scooter" Libby indicted on 5 counts - 2 perjury, 2 false statements and 1 Obstruction of Justice in front of a federal grand jury.

Participants in the Outing of a CIA agent (whether convicted or not - bad form): Libby, Cheney, Hadley, possibly Bolton too. We're waiting on Mr. Fitzgerald to shed more light if he can - otherwise we likely have to wait until either the democrats win back one of the houses or until the republicans regain their morality and stop enabling the thug-like behavior that has taken over this administration.
